Sharing Friendship & Service

Summer is flying by very quickly and I hope you have all had an opportunity to enjoy it. Perhaps you were able to get away for a vacation or just get some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather we have had so far. It seems the hot weather is going to be here for awhile.

We had a wonderful speaker at our Program Meeting. Nancy Giaimo, owner of Changing Spaces, gave us tips on organizing and downsizing our homes. I was so inspired that I spent the next several days organizing and eliminating. She was very helpful, informative and motivating.

The Ways and Means Committee has been hard at work getting all the details finalized for the Author's Brunch. They will be calling on everyone to help as this is our major fundraiser. Please start contacting friends and family to attend on November 12, we need a fantastic turnout!

Thanks to Dawn Fielder for taking over the Business meeting while I took an unexpected road trip to Oregon. She did a great job! Thanks Dawn.

Some of our members attended the baby shower for Jenn Walls, held at HBIC. Everyone had a great time. They were very moved by Jenn's interaction with her students and their parents. Our best wishes Jenn. Keep us posted.

See you all at the September 1st Program Meeting. Our guest speaker will be Jill Patterson from the La Habra Library. She will give us lots of library tips.
