She Bear: Empowerment and Safety for Women

Brea Civic Center, Community Room A

1 Civic Center Circle, Brea, CA 92821

Learn how to protect yourself with the same ferocity as the most dangerous animal in the woods – a female grizzly, a she-bear.

Based on more than forty years of experience in the field, former

Fullerton Police Chief Pat McKinley will tell you and the women you care about that instinct is everything.

In today’s uncertain world, we know that one in four women will be a victim of sexual assault in her lifetime – a devastating experience for a woman. It is Pat McKinley’s personal mission to change those odds. In his seminar, you will learn to use your inner sense of danger, and learn how to avoid unsafe situations, outsmart a potential attacker regardless of your age or size, and face any danger that confronts you.

Open to all females age 16 and up.

Seating is limited.

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

In 2007 Congress declared January 11 of each year, National Human Trafficking Awareness Day with the following:

"...Congress supports the goals and ideals of observing the National Day of Human Trafficking Awareness on January 11 of each year and all other efforts to raise awareness of and opposition to human trafficking."

The first National Human Trafficking Awareness Day took place on January 11, 2008 with organizations throughout the country promoting awareness in their communities.

Working with the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, Soroptimist International of Brea/La Habra invited people from city governments, local chambers of commerce, and police forces to become more aware and informed on the problem of human trafficking that exists in all areas and walks of life. Including our local comminties.
